A tall, charismatic and stylish black man of Jamaican heritage, Robert Ian Bonnick or RiB has been living in Sydney since 1992 and his life has groomed him to excel in the areas his business focuses upon;
:: an Inspirational Youth Speaker and MC
:: consulting to the hospitality and entertainment sector
RiB has been exploring and studying what, connects, inspires and motivates us as human beings. His experience of growing up over eighteen years in 2 Children’s Homes in London and 20 years studying with some of the key educators and thought leaders on the planet, provided him with his opportunity and purpose of finding ways to bring together vastly different groups of people by inspiring them to learn more about themselves and each other. ’
From early on he honed his skills of determination, discipline and leadership excelling in sport in his role of captain of the majority of the teams he played in throughout his early schooling. In this role he inspired his fellow players to come together and "play as A Unit" in the pursuit of a shared objective. This ultimately led him to realising his first dream of representing the England Basketball Team.
RiB moved to Sydney at the age of 20 where his natural charm, gift of the gab and ability to make everyone feel special, quickly led him to become gatekeeper of some of Sydney’s hottest nightspots and special events over 2 years such as, Soho Bar, Metropolis, Q-Bar, Riva.
He then took a 4 year sabbatical and became well known in both London and Milan for his outgoing personality, happy disposition, graceful moves and artful style. Firstly, modelling in Italy for brands such as Swish Jeans, Romeo Gigli, Versace, Gianfranco Ferre, Bata, Muller Yoghurt, Griffin Laundry and Allen Cox Underwear. He was also proud to star in fashion shows alongside household names such as Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova and Linda Evangelista. He later utilised his skills in the Nightclub sphere this time working in VIP PR, being the front person/organiser of fashion shows/events for some of Italy’s most famous Clubs such as Byblo’s in Riccione, La Fura, Cocorico and La Casablanca (Tropea) to name a few.Throughout this time RiB was honing his skills not only of pr and creating PR teams, staff training, event management but all the while increasing his personal network which led him to be retained as a key consultant sourcing VIP Talent for The MTV Music Awards 1998 featuring Madonna.
A few of the special guests over the years...
In concert with his 20 year foray into the Entertainment Industry by night... by day he took the time to study with some of the worlds' foremost, Meditation Masters, Thought Leaders in Human Potential/Inspiration and Personal Development.
Most recently RiB is developing, as co-founder of Social-Laneway Pty Ltd with Marina Agustina, Social-Laneway Espresso https://www.facebook.com/pages/Social-Laneway-Espresso/475312135877937 - a vibrant coffee shop/community hub concept, the first of which opened over 4 years ago in Redfern, Sydney NSW.

Shortly after starting Social-Laneway, Marina became pregnant with their first, Alexa-Rose Bonnick, then second child, Almira-Sava Bonnick. This completed a long held desire for RiB to sire a family of his own and have the opportunity to positively affect others through two passions, connecting people and inspiring some of today's youth to live their potential.
